Stopping by again

Oh dear where has the time gone? I have been quite amiss at not keeping in touch with myself and my friends so now I think I will start again. Already it is March 08 and you might think I have not been doing anything....which is so wrong. I've been having way too much fun.
This year my quest (I learned about Quests in Rovers ((Scouts Canada)) and that is to finish up as many things as I start. So because I'm a starter already and I need to finish here are some of the projects I've taken in hand.
1) Charm quilt started in 2002. Several months ago I sandwiched it and the 1st of March I started to quilt it (by hand no less). I'm learning lots of tips and ideas from Loraine and Rosemary as to how to proceed.
1a) I started to put together a Winter quilt for my friend Carol. Shhhhhh don't tell her, it is to be a surprise. This is made from 6 snowmen blocks (preprinted). I am now making 12 crazy blocks to make the finished quilt larger than those 6 blocks. Today I plan on getting the material to make the borders and binding. I want to used Rosemary's Phaff sewing machine for the fancy machine embellishing of each patch. Do you think I will get it done by winter....progress report to follow.
2) I finally put the binding on my Live Laugh and Love wallhanging. That I started in 2001 while Lou and I lived in Wyoming, Ont. It was actually my first embellishing project started while rocking on the cedar deck we built around the house. As they say.....under the shade of those tall pine trees. I had it completed as I wrote and then had to take off all the binding. Oops I didn't trim it properly and as a result I had little bits of white printed parts showing where they should not have. Tsk Tsk. I couldn't leave that so I just busied myself and removed the whole binding. NOW I'm out today looking for material which will blend with the patterns. BTW Thanks to Rosemary for housecleaning this preprinted pillow top and letting me take away the trophy.
2a) So what have I started in place of this hand work? Well, I started to put together all my little blocks for a quilt I want to call "FEELING BETTER?" I cut all the 1 1/2" squares while Lou and I lived in Sandy Lane apartments 2002 to 2004. Now I have 10000s of these little patches pinned on my WORKING WALL...time to put them into blocks.
3) Well, after 2 years of flying around USA, England and Canada Ms Bamboo has returned home again. She left Sarnia in 2005 for places unknown. My friend Kerry took her unfinished self under her wing and she completed almost every patch. Along with my friends in 3Q group and Kerry, I now have a super surprise for Emily. Shhhhhh!!! Don't tell her either. Ms Bamboo went to the Teddybear stuffing store and she now has a fully rounded out body. One that I know Emily will love forever and ever. Emily is to have an operation on Apr 4 and I hope that I can courier this to her today or tomorrow so that Ms Bamboo will be there to cheer Emily up when she gets home. How much fun I am going to have telling her the long story about Ms Bamboo's travels.
3) What did I start? Lou and I were out driving the other day and we stopped into a little store. I stayed in the car and did some embroidery for another new project( will talk about this later on of course). Without my knowing it the store manager was watching out her store window and she clicked to the fact that PERHAPS I might want to quilt a treasure that her own mother worked on in 1971. Her mother passed in 1995 and the quilt is still sandwiched and pinned around the edges. Could I resist this new project. Not on your life. Today I hope to go out and purchase material for the binding, and verigated thread to use on the quilting. This will be a machine quilt not hand quilted. I do want to see it finished one day.

Anyway, this is only a bit about what I was doing, and now I think it is time to close off and maybe I can post some pictures of what was old and what is new. I think you might enjoy that instead of reading all my brags here.

Thanks for reading. :)
